The province of Ontario is divided into 12 geographical regions:

| Region 3 - Niagara | Region 9 - North East |
| Region 4 - Snowbelt | Region 10 - North Central |
| Region 5 - Golden Horseshoe | Region 11 - Toronto |
| Region 6 - Georgian Bay Lakelands Region | Region 12 - East Central |
Regional Competition Management Teams (RCMT's) are responsible for co-ordinating and organizing competitions for sports offered in the region. Special Olympics in Ontario is organized through Community Councils, the Regional Competition Management Team and the Special Olympics Sports Clubs.
